Susan and I spent five days together at her South Seas timeshare on Captiva Island, FL the third week of January and had a wonderful time walking the beach, looking for seashells, watching birds, going to Ding Darling Nature Reserve and eating superb lunches and dinners, often having fresh conch chowder and fresh fish meals. Sanibel and Captiva have wonderful restaurants! We especially loved watching sunsets from her screened porch and looking for the “green flash”, just when the sun hits the horizon. | ![]() |

We also saw lots of ruddy turnstones and sanderlings on the beach in front of her condo, which we walked several times daily looking for new shells that had washed in. |

We enjoyed hiking the Bailey Tract twice, since there’s different birds there, and turtles, and the occasional alligator, although we didn’t see one this year. | ![]() |
Captiva is beautiful in January, it was warm and sunny, and a real pleasure to be there! | |
